This Naples walking tour will take you to some of the city’s best sights, namely the royal palace and the main part of the old centre. Sitting on the Bay of Naples, the city boasts stunning views, as well as plenty of culture. Your tour will begin at the Piazza del Plebiscito, the centre of modern Naples. On one side of the square sits the Palazzo Reale, built by the Spanish viceroys in the 17th century, and finished by the kings of Italy. The palace is now a museum, which we’ll visit on our tour. Your guide will take you to see the former royal apartments, decorated in sumptuous Baroque style, as well as a small private theatre and the most important library in southern Italy. Nearby, we’ll see the Galleria Umberto I, a huge 19th century glass-roofed shopping ‘mall’. Have a stroll in Spaccanapoli, one of the main streets of the old centre, followed by a stop at one of the most important Jesuit churches in Naples.
