This tour takes us back in time to visit the ancient city of Pompeii,and then on to the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Amalfi Coast. Carefully preserved for centuries under a layer of ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD, Pompeii is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Here, you will be met by a knowledgeable guide for a two-hour tourof this incredible site. You’ll wander passed ancient streets, bath houses and ornate frescoes hidden inside Patrician villas. This is probably as close to theancient Roman Empire as you’re going to get. The rest of the day will be spent exploring the stunning nearby Amalfi Coast. Here, the mountains appear to slide into the beautiful blue sea and around every corner is a perfect little village, or ruined castle, clinging to the rocks. You could have the option to visit the village of Amalfi itself, shaped like an amphitheater or colorful Positano with its many boutiques and fascinating shops. Or you may choose to travel further inland to the clifftop town of Ravello, renowned for its grand villas and lush gardens.
