In Ca' d'Oro, the finest palace on theGrand Canal, you can find Baron Franchetti's personal art collectionwhich includes, among other masterpieces, the stunning "SanSebastiano" by Andrea Mantegna.After restoring the palace to its originalsplendor, Franchetti presented the palace, along with the art collection, tothe Italian government in 1916. Theinner courtyard is of particular significance, with its ancient marble mosaicfloor made by the Baron himself, and for its original well-head carved byBartolomeo Bon in 1427.
