During this tour, you’ll get to visit the grand Caserta Royal Palace, located in the town of the same name, just north of Naples. During the 1700s, there wasn’t a monarch in Europe who did not wish to build his own Palace of Versailles, and Caserta’s Charles III was no exception. In 1752, he instructed Vanvitelli to draw up plans to build him a lavish and magnificent home. Little more than twenty years later, the palace was complete. On our tour, we’ll get to explore this opulent palace, complete with a 245-metre façade, majestic central staircase and sumptuously decorated royal apartments. If the opulent interior is not enough, no worries, we’ll head out to the equally large and impressive gardens, littered with charming ponds and fountains.
