Today you’ll have the chance to taste some of thefine wines produced on the lower slopes of Mount Etna as well as exploringEurope’s tallest active volcano, higher up. On the way up, you will pass throughthe towns of Santa Venerina and Zafferana before ascending to a height of 2000metres and then taking a short walk to the Silvestre craters, dating from 1986and the lava flows of 2001, 2002 and 2003. You will then be taken to a familyfarm where you will not only taste the delicious wines they produce but alsoget to sample a selection of local honeys (orange, lemon, eucalyptus,strawberry), almond pastries, olives and extra virgin olive oil. Then return tothe coast and visit Ariceale, a superbly sited town, high above the rocky coastand surrounded by lemon groves.
