Padua has been home to aJewish community since the 11th century and from the 15thcentury, its university was the only one in Europe to admit Jews to the schoolof medicine. The old Jewish ghetto was in the heart of Padua, clustered aroundthe Piazza delle Erbe. You will also visit the Eremitani church, where Jewswere forced to attend sermons and the Musei Civici which contains the tombs oftwo Jewish women who lived in Padua in the 15th century. Finally,visit the Scrovegni Chapel to see the incredible Giotto frescoes.
