There is no betterway of seeing this magical lake than by taking a boat trip. From the water youget a much better view of some of the sumptuous villas that border the lake(including George Clooney’s) and the lush vegetation that surrounds them.Between Torno and Blevio, the guide will point out the pretty little villagesthat line the shore, many with beautiful bell towers, reflected in the water.Pass by the little island of Comacina, the only island in the lake. Largelyabandoned now apart from a handful of artists and a restaurant, Comacina is infact one of the earliest inhabited parts of the lake and there was already asettlement there when it was taken over by the Romans. You will then get thechance to go ashore at Bellagio, the pearl of the lake and wander up and downits quaint little lanes with a wonderful variety of craft shops. Towering abovethe town is the imposing Villa Serbelloni.
