Stretching from theFrench Riviera to the edge of Tuscany, the Ligurian coast is justifiably knownas the Italian Riviera. It is very much a Riviera of two halves, separated bythe port city of Genova; the area to the west is known as the Riviera diPonente, the coast of the setting sun, and consists of wide beaches and lushlandscapes, with the hills behind hosting acres of glasshouses for thecultivation of flowers. The eastern half is known as the Riviera di Levante andhere you will discover delightful coves between craggy hilltops and perfectlittle fishing villages.
