Today’s itinerary takes intwo of the finest resorts on the Puglian coast, Monopoli and Poligno a Mare andthe drive between the two will give you a real flavour of the countryside.Monopoli is the commercial port for Puglia’s most important export, olive oilbut also has a pleasant town centre, with an important Puglian style Baroquecathedral. After lunch (not included), head to Poligno a Mare, a small portperched on the edge of some spectacular limestone cliffs, with some intriguingwave-lashed caves and terraces overlooking the sea. You will enter the old partof town by the Palazzo Feudal gate and make your way to the Palazzo PinoPascali, today used as the town library. Before leaving, your guide will takeyou to a ‘gelateria’ where you can taste the special ice-cream, made inPolignano.
