Go a little bitoff-piste today and see a couple of fine museums that are not on the usualtourist trail. The first is the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, the collection of fineart and rare manuscripts assembled by Cardinal Federico Borromeo in the 17thcentury. Works include masterpieces by Leonardo, Botticelli and Titian. GianGiacamo Poldi Pezzoli was a prominent 19th century collector and hishouse has become a museum so has the added bonus of displaying the works hecollected in situ. Amongst the many beautiful paintings he assembled are twoworks by Botticelli.
